Kilkenny is a famous city in Ireland which was founded by the vikings...

and to this day has many small, winding alleys that date back to medieval times. Kilkenny Castle is well worth a visit and if you like ales, Smithwicks Distillery offers a great tour and is in the centre of the city.

On the way there we will stop into Dunamase which is a castle in ruins, and was the site where the Irish first invited the Normans into Ireland. These ruins are less visited and offer some great things to explore. Be sure to watch out for the murder holes!
